Sandra Hume first read the Little House series when she was nine. Twenty years later, she visited her first Laura Ingalls Wilder homesite. Her burning interest in all things Laura led to a decade of publishing the Homesteader, a twice-yearly print newsletter all about Laura Ingalls Wilder and the places she lived.

Sandra Hume has been traveling to the Little House sites for ten years–and wants you to go, too!

In 2009, in the breakfast room of Prairie House Manor in De Smet, South Dakota, she became one of five founding board members of the Laura Ingalls Wilder Legacy and Research Association, which runs the Beyond Little House website and holds the academic- and fan-based conference LauraPalooza in varying locations every two years. She left the board in 2015 after six years of service. Her enthusiasm for Laura Ingalls Wilder’s homesites has culminated in her Insiders’ Guide to Little House Travel series for families. Sandra loves seeing Little House fans and their families “going West”—again and again.

A longtime professional writer and novelist, Sandra will someday publish a memoir about her life chasing Laura. She lives in Colorado with her husband and three children.
